SUMMARY:The Bi Wives Club: A Comedy Showcase at Dorothy
DESCRIPTION:Who likes a party on Wednesday? We like a party on a Wednesday! Come take a break with us and a stacked lineup of Chicago’s funniest comics! Not bi? No problem. Nobody’s wife? Even better. \nThe Bi Wives Club is a comedy showcase for all outsiders who hide in plain sight. Playful\, intimate\, and hilarious—audiences praise the show’s atmosphere\, community\, and humor. It’s both one of the funniest and most energizing shows in town. \nJoin us on November 4th as we welcome comics Nana Rodriquez\, Shane Anthony\, Lio Cundiff\, Rachel Dispenza\, and the Bi Wives themselves: Kris Lantzy\, Kayla McCaffery & Christen Manville. \nTickets are $12 in advance and $17 at the door. \nDoors open at 6pm with a one-hour happy hour before the show at 7pm. Dorothy remains open after the event until 11pm. \nDorothy is 21+ and requires a physical or mobile ID for entry. Dorothy is ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Ave. If you are a guest who requires elevator access\, please wait by the black door on Campbell Ave with the Dorothy logo in the window and call staff to assist at 773-770-3799 \nPlease note: refund requests are only available until 24h before the event. No other refund requests will be honored. \nFollow the Bi Wives Club on Instagram at @theBiWivesClub to see full performer bios and future show announcements. \nABOUT THE COMEDIANS \nNana Rodriguez brings a bold point of view\, a little attitude\, and no shortage of opinions to the stage. She finds the funny in family\, relationships\, getting older\, Latino culture\, and the life experiences that have shaped her unapologetic perspective. She has performed at the Latina Comedy Festival\, Laugh After Dark Comedy Fest\, and Mario Lopez’s “Wey Out Loud\,” carving out a comedic style that is unmistakably her own. Relatable and never afraid to laugh at herself—or anyone else in the room—Nana makes every show feel spontaneous\, personal\, and just a little unpredictable. This fall\, Nana is hitting the road as a featured comedian on Jose Not Juan’s La Mala Tour\, kicking things off with her debut at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank\, California. She’s loud\, Latina\, unfiltered\, and always ready to say what everyone else was thinking. \nShane Anthony is a Detroit born\, Chicago based stand up comedian and producer. In addition to opening for notable names\, she has headlined some of the city’s top clubs and shows. She is also the creator and producer of Uncensored Comedy\, one of the best selling and fastest growing late night shows in the city. She has featured in special tapings from LMAOF Comedy and FourbyThree’s Put It On Tape series. \nLio Cundiff is a Chicago-based comedian known for his bold stage presence\, fresh perspective\, and a storytelling style all his own. In his comedy\, he explores his unique experience as a trans man\, a forced food service industry guy\, and his recent 15 mins of fame (Google him). You can catch him producing mics and shows all over the city\, including Power Hour\, Vibe Check\, and Puff Puff Laugh Comedy. He has also been featured on Comedians You Should Know\, Don’t Tell Comedy\, Laugh Factory\, House of Blues\, and The Den Theater. At the end of the day\, he really is “just a boy.” \nRachel Dispenza is a stand-up comic by night and an artist merch manager\, also by night. What they do during the day is none of your business. They’ve performed all over the US\, opening for headliners including Beth Stelling\, Emma Willmann\, and Myq Kaplan as well as the bands Sleater-Kinney and Mannequin Pussy. They can be seen regularly all over Chicago\, where they live and produce the shows Nervous Laughter and Could Be Fun. \nThe comedian producers of the Bi Wives Club are three bi wives (not to each other) who perform\, celebrate\, and promote joke-dense\, authentic comedy. KRIS LANTZY is a queer comic and hot mom tackling alllll ‘the issues’ through her playful comedic lens\, like what to do when everyone thinks your wife is your sister? CHRISTEN MANVILLE has an unmatched ability to inhabit discordant perspectives with ease. She is the ideal date for an X-rated experimental puppet show and your grandmother’s 80th birthday party. KAYLA MCCAFFREY is an actor\, comedian\, and improvisor as well as a newlywed wife\, inner child nurturer\, and vegan dog mom. Kayla jumps between her too-many roles with ease and throws her whole heart into everything she does. \n  \nAccessibility: ASL Interpretation\, Elevator Access \nWebsite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-bi-wives-club-a-comedy-showcase-tickets-2003030334651

SUMMARY:What's Yours Like at Mrs. Murphy's
DESCRIPTION:Featuring: A short performance by an incredible new improv team every week \nTellin’ Tales Theatre takes its mission “to shatter barriers between the disabled and non-disabled worlds through the transformative power of personal story” to the world of improv. “What’s Yours Like” is inspired by a theme developed by the audience at the start of each show. Then\, improvisers with and without disabilities leap into action and develop humorous and unpredictable narratives in real-time. The result matches the spontaneity and unpredictability of life\, making each show a unique experience. “Mine is shriveled.” “Mine vibrates.” “Mine hangs to the left.”… “What’s yours like?” \n  \nAccessibility: ASL Interpreted \nWebsite: https://tellintales.org

SUMMARY:Adirondack Chair Circle: OC Matinee performance at Steppenwolf Theatre
DESCRIPTION:ADIRONDACK CHAIR CIRCLE written by Stephanie Alison Walker\nDirected by Pam Mackinnon \nBanna has it all… Or at least that’s what the other suburban moms think. Beneath the charcuterie boards\, backyard soirees and pickleball\, there’s a funny feeling bubbling underneath this seemingly perfect facade. Is it the pressure to save her children from the beliefs of the school district? Or is it just that suspicious crow watching her every move? A piercing world premiere from a playful Chicago voice\, Stephanie Alison Walker’s Adirondack Chair Circle exposes the hilarious hypocrisy of the clubs we join and the company we keep. And has a damn good time doing it. \n$25 tickets available for those using the service!\nVisit https://www.steppenwolf.org/whats-on/accessible-performances for more! \n  \nAccessibility: Open Captions\, Large Print Programs\, Assistive Listening Devices \nWebsite: https://www.steppenwolf.org/events/adirondack-chair-circle-5
