DESCRIPTION:Finding Our Way Into the Unknown \nFriday\, August 21st at 7:30 pm\nSaturday\, August 22nd at 3:00 pm\n2853 W Montrose Ave\, Chicago\, IL 60618\nBlack box opens 30 minutes before showtime.\nEstimated Run time: 70 minutes\nMasks are suggested for the audience and will be available at the event. \nTickets are required and run from $15-$30. Please email if this is a barrier. \nThe evening will include works by Choreographers Sydney Erlikh and Deb Goodman with dancers\, and by UDF member Bradford Chin.Black box opens 30 minutes before showtime.\nEstimated Run time: 70 minutes \nAnd Yet We Are Here\, a dance calling for an end to violence by Deb Goodman and Sydney Erlikh in collaboration with their dancers. Disabled bodyminds are often among those most deeply impacted by violence\, conflict\, and systemic injustice. The piece considers and expands on the themes of war and rebuilding while embodying the resources of the disability community’s collective care and access\, even in the face of bullets\, bombs\, and brutality. This piece takes us through the events of lives marked by tragedy and how communities come together to move forward and build a better world. \nUDF member Bradford Chin presents a selection of three small group works. The kaleidoscopic play of The Vertiginous Thrill of a Flop / PLAY (2026)\, originally created at the University of Wisconsin-Madison\, flits between the extremes of its incoherence to teeter on the edge where we flop\, fly\, or flop into flight—the experimental spirit necessary for our artistic explorations. SOLO Trio (premiere) continues Chin’s SOLO series that explores disability-centered inclusive choreographic practices and challenges how we recognize and conceptualize unison across diverse bodies in motion. The third work\, To be far and close (work in progress)\, gently contemplates the life of shared relationships and how they grow or contract across time and distance. \nMasks are suggested for the audience and will be available at the event. Event will have Air purifiers sponsored by the Clean Air Club. Venue is fully wheelchair accessible. It will be a relaxed performance with various seating options.
